“Opera and song repertoire, from baroque to romantic works — Belgian soprano Sabra Bahri Khatri navigates them with ease. Her repertoire, as heard in her Studio Toots recording, ranges from intimate neo-baroque song to lyrical jazz standards.

In chamber music settings, she performs in duo with pianist Ramon Van Engelenhoven, as well as in trio with oud player Abid Bahri and Philippe Malfeyt. Her name also appears on the programmes of opera houses, particularly in the Netherlands.

With her distinctive voice and deep musicality, Sabra connects effortlessly with her audience.”

'De Twintigers'

Sabra Bahri Khatri is featured in the current edition of Klara Twintigers 2026, an initiative by the Belgian classical music broadcaster Klara (VRT), highlighting emerging artists within the classical, jazz, and global music scene. This year she will represent a new generation of  belgian musicians ready to help shape the future of classical music, jazz, and global sounds. With De Twintigers 2026, Klara brings emerging talents into the spotlight. A series featuring ten promising artists between the ages of 20 and 29.

While they have already distinguished themselves through concerts and recordings, they are still on the verge of a wider breakthrough and this is exactly where Klara steps in.

Over the course of ten weeks, audiences are introduced to one artist each week, with space for their story, their sound, and their artistic ambitions. Sabra also returns to Studio Toots for a unique concert performance, now available on Klara’s channel on VRT MAX.

As part of the Klara Twintigers series, each artist is given a dedicated week within the programme.

During this period, Sabra Bahri Khatri is introduced through a series of interviews and broadcasts. This includes an in-depth conversation with Carlo Siau, reflecting on her artistic journey — from her early beginnings to the development of her musical identity, as well as the influences, challenges, and experiences that continue to shape her both as an artist and as a person.

In addition, her Studio Toots vocal session will be broadcast live, offering audiences an intimate insight into her work in performance.
